JONESPORT – Richard E. Alley, 60, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at a Machias hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 18, 1947, in Machias, the son of Arpard and Charlotte (Lotte) Alley. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Morse) Alley, they were married for two years; his daughter, Charlotte Alley and fianc?, James Batson Jr.; his stepchildren, Trudy Crocker and friend, Ronald Wilbur, Heidi (Landeen) Wood and husband, Ryan, Justin and Heath Landeen and Girlie and Chucky Knowles. He had 10 grandchildren, Angel, Sarah, Gabrielle, Sharon, Donald, Kali, Lawrence Jr. “P.J.” and Josie, Jane Jordan and Jasmine Wood; a sister, Georgianna Allen; and a brother, Arpy Alley. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, 28 Sawyer Square, Jonesport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in memory of Richard or to his wife, Kim Alley, P.O. Box 345, Jonesport, ME 04649. Arrangements were made by Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
