MANCHESTER, N.H. – Richard E. Christakos, 67, died Sept. 24, 2004, at the Eliot Hospital in Manchester. Born June 16, 1937, in Bangor, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ida Mae (Morgan) Chistakos. Dick retired from Brook Farm Distributors as Vice President and served in the U.S. Army as Sergeant. Dick enjoyed playing golf, loved sports and was an avid Patriots, Red Sox, and Giants fan. His other hobbies were his electric trains and flower gardening. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Christakos of Manchester; one daughter, Suzanne Edin and her husband, Carl, of Nottingham, N.H.; two sisters, Jeanette Taylor and Joan Murphy of Bangor; two grandchildren, Andrew and Adam Edin of Nottingham, N.H. Dick was predeceased by a brother, James Christakos. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Rt. 4) Lee, N.H. Burial will be held at a later date in Bangor.
