FORT FAIRFIELD- Richard E. Farrell, 81, died Nov. 16, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born March 23, 1923, in Forest City, Maine, the youngest son of Ambrose and Bird (Graham) Farrell. He was a life time member of the Ray Goding Post No. 88, American Legion in Presque Isle, Hayward-Frazier Post No. 2599, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Aroostook Lodge No. 197 in Mars Hill for 42 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence (Graves) Farrell of Fort Fairfield; four daughters, Bird Armstrong and her husband, Dale, of Fort Fairfield, Kandis Pape and her husband, Robert, of Hope Mills, N.C., Tama Palmer and her husband, Jerry, of Presque Isle and Marla Rice of Scarborough; two sons, Scott Farrell and his wife, Melissa, of North Pole, Alaska, Todd R. Farrell and his wife, Danielle, of Pawcatuck, Conn.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Bowden of Brewer and Dorothy Day of Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Christen Palmer; two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Farrell; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fraser and Cora Graves. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Easton Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Memorial Ceme-tery in Caribou. A time of fellowship will be held at Hillcrest Estate in Fort Fairfield following the burial. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
