EAGLE LAKE – Dick Hill, 77, died Feb. 5, 2006, surrounded by family after a short illness. Dick was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Modesto, Calif., the son of Bruce and Martha (Shore) Hill. This former San Benito County, Calif. man of the year in 1991, is survived by his wife, Patty Flint Hill of Eagle Lake and children, Alan Hill of Fredericksburg, Va., Ron Hill of Theodosia, Mo., Janice and her husband, Thom Wiseman, of Walnut Grove, Calif., Michael Hill of Alameda, Calif., Mathew Hill of Vancouver, Wash. and Piper Graham of Chico, Calif. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Bryan, Katie and Hillary Wiseman, Aidan and Sullivan Graham. Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Katie Hill in 1987 which they had five children together. He will be remembered as a life-long rancher, always active in his community and instrumental in the vision and construction of the San Benito County Historical Park. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Mountain View Bible Church in Eagle Lake with Pastor Gary Gardner officiating. Those who wish in his memory may donate to the “Dance Hall Project” at the Historical Park, care of San Benito County Historical Society, 498 Fifth St., Hollister, CA 95023.
