BELFAST – Richard Melvin Hendrick Jr., 76, died June 17, 2005, at Duck Lake, Township 4 ND. He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Searsport, the son of Gladys (Holderness) and Richard M. Hendrick Sr. He worked as a Refrigeration Service Engineer. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 43 of Belfast and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Belfast. He attended the Grace Tabernacle Church. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He will be greatly missed by his family. Richard is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ruth Savage and her husband, Tom, of Searsport, and Sandra Ann Whitney and her husband, David, of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Shannon Clark, Nikoloas Hendrick, Adam Whitney, and Lance Whitney; one great-grandson, Devin; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five sisters; and one brother. A graveside memorial service at Gray’s Hill Cemetery, Little Deer Isle, will be announced in a later edition of the Bangor Daily News by the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
