ORONO – Rita M. Fortier, 76, wife of the late Francis Fortier, died Oct. 11, 2005, at a Howland healthcare facility. She was born May 26, 1929, in Bangor, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Marshman) Sullivan. Rita was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orono and was active in the Daughters of Isabella. She worked with the search program, a weekend retreat program for teens. She is survived by a son, Thomas Fortier of Orono, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ornon, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille presiding. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
