BREWER – Rita P. (LaForge) Farnham, 85, went to be with our Lord June 9, 2006, in Brewer, after a long illness. She was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Old Town, the daughter of Clement and Beatrice LaForge. Rita attended John Bapst High School. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leslie Farnham in 1970. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Farnham of Brewer and Carla Gallant and her husband, Paul, of Bangor; loving brothers, Clayton LaForge of Portland and Carl LaForge and his wife, Bessie, of Gilford, N.H.; two grandchildren, Kimberly Landry and her husband, John, of Brewer and Troy Goodrich and his wife, Tracy, of Holden; beloved great-grandchildren, Kyra Landry, Jordan and Kyle Goodrich; beloved nieces and nephews, Patty, Michelle, Paul, Lyn, Jeanne, Tina, Betsy, Barbie and Sharon. She will be remembered by a special friend, Michael Dougherty of Eddington and will be forever remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, sister and grandmother. Rita’s family thanks the staff at the Woodlands, New Hope Hospice and Elizabeth Weiss MD for the wonderful care she received. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Joel R. Cyr, pastor of St. Joseph and St. Teresa Catholic Church, presiding. Burial will be at Dean Hill Cemetery, Orrington.
