CALAIS – Robbie Alan McIninch, 44, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 7, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 15, 1960, at St. Stephen, N.B., the son of Robert and Yvonne McIninch. He is survived by his parents, brother, Danny McIninch; sister, Cindy and her husband, Alan Cavanagh; grandparents, Alan and Annie Whirty of Old Ridge, N.B.; many nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Robbie lost his sight in 1977, the result of a tragic accident. He amazed everyone that he met on his ability to handle his disability. In spite of his handicap, he enjoyed life to its fullest. He enjoyed traveling to the state and national Federation of the Blind conventions. He enjoyed his talking computer, walking and visiting with many special friends. He also attended Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Mass. in 1978; and Bangor Community College to study computer programming in 1983. He enjoyed Sunday visits with his grandparents, especially when Gramp read to him and his Grams cooking. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church in Calais. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated.
