SILVER RIDGE PLT. – Robert Alfonzo Pulsifer, 91, passed away Jan. 13, 2005, at his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1913, at Marriotts Cove, Nova Scotia, the son of Howard and Jessie (Lantz) Pulsifer. He was married to Avis (Humphrey) for 67 years until her death in 1999. Bob was a small but feisty man who was never afraid of hard work or any challenge. As a young man he was a woodsman and later became a trucker and over the road driver. In later years he worked for the State Highway Dept. from which he retired in 1975. Being the head of a five-generation family, he is survived by a son and daughter, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, son, Robert (Ruth) Pulsifer, Millinocket; daughter, Ina (James) Pratt, Sherman; grandchildren, Colleen Guiggey (Wayne) of Sherman, Darlene Perry (Mark) of Natick, Mass., Robert Pulsifer Jr. (Wendee) of Bangor, Joe Pratt (Melinda) of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Gail Pocock (John) of Sherman, Sharon Pratt (Isabelle) of Whitney Point, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Carey Ann Guiggey (Ron), Clint Guiggey (Tracey), Tara Tenenbaum (Neil), Gwen Dumont (Ted), Leslie Pulsifer, Derek Pulsifer, Lisa Perry, Nate Perry, Erika Pratt, Ciara Pratt, Brandon Pratt; great-great-grandchildren, Brenna and Chelsea Noonan, Logan and Brody Guiggey. He is also survived by his half brothers and half sisters in Canada, John, Harold, Muriel, Margaret, Gloria; a special nephew, Loren Humphrey (Betty Ann), and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Palmer, Archibald, and Keith. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at his residence, 1082 Silver Ridge Road, where funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Carlton Huntley officiating. Spring interment will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either the Sherman Area Senior Citizens or the Sherman Area VFW.
