CHAPMAN – Robert A. Wardwell, 75, died May 20, 2005, at Presque Isle following a long illness. He was born May 22, 1929, at Woodland, the son of Alfred and Berniece (Hazlett) Wardwell. Robert served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter in the local area for many years. Robert married Barbara (Rossignol) Wardwell Aug. 30, 1952. Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara of Chapman; are three brothers, Lloyd Wardwell of Chapman, Philip Wardwell of N.B., Canada and Gaylon Wardwell of Buxton; one sister, Roberta Jacobs of Zephyrhills, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call noon Tuesday, until time of services at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Fox, officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
