CALAIS – Robert “Bob” A. Haskins, 75, died July 3, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Calais, the son of Edward and Mary (Lawrence) Haskins. Bob was a member of Sherman Brothers Post No. 3, American Legion of Calais and USS Baltimore C.A. No. 68 Association. He was an avid hunter and loved his family dearly. He also served as CEO of the morning Coffee Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Worrell) Haskins in 1999. Survivors include his children, Mike and his wife, Judy, of Germany, Shari Doten and her husband, Donald, of Baring, John and his wife, Katharine, of Calais and Laurie Mahar and her husband, Kevin, of Garland; special companion, Pearl Tomah of Calais; a sister, Marjorie Hill and her husband, Ralph, of Bangor; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Haskins and Freda Ross and her husband, Jake, all from New Brunswick, Canada. Known as Dar, he will be greatly missed by grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Jeramie, Adam, Bob, Dustin, Katie, Leslie and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Clara Charlotte, Cain, Keagan, Morgan Rose, Hailey, Kaliegh, Brady and Lauren; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Lewis and Karen Scribner and family; and many friends. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Calais Cemetery with Pastor Robert Hinton officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport.
