HERMON – Robert E. Jordan, 94, husband of the late Carmen (Phinney) Jordan, died March 13, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare center. He was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Hancock, the son of Humphrey and Elizabeth (Stratton) Jordan. Bob had been employed as a mechanic with the Greyhound Bus Lines for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He loved antique cars and enjoyed working on his neighbors and friends automobiles. Surviving are four children, Roberta White and her husband, John, of Bucksport, Herbert R. Jordan and his wife, Norma Jean, of Hermon, Mary Jordan of Alton, Beverly Booker and her husband, Richard, of Carmel; several grandchildren, including Robert R. Jordan, with whom he made his home; several great-grandchildren, including A.J., with whom he also made his home, and his wife, Tabbie, of Hermon; nieces, nephews and a dear friend, Jacqueline Hunter of Alton. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Melva Duplisea of Chicopee, Mass. in May 2005; two brothers, Clyde and Russell. The family would like to thank the staff of Bangor Nursing and Rehab Center for their loving care and support during his illness. A graveside service will be held in May at the Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon, with the Rev. Donald Booker, pastor of the Bradford Baptist Church officiating, at a date and time to be announced.
