MILLINOCKET – Robert Conrad Coburn passed away Dec. 12, 2003, after a long illness. He was born July 6, 1927, in Millinocket, to Benjamin and Bernice (Whitehouse) Coburn. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Navy. He had many interest and hobbies. He loved fishing and writing stories of his childhood. He truly enjoyed stock-car racing. For many years he devoted his time to changing motors, tires, and anything else he could do to help. He loved to go to the races and being involved. He will also be remembered for his kindness and love for his dog and companion, Muttly, who passed away last year. He was predeceased by his wife of 22 years, NettieAnn (Linscott) Coburn; an infant daughter, Dusty Ann Coburn; a great-granddaughter, Daisy Cadaan Ryder; two sisters, Betty Lampher and Joanne Sanborn; eight brothers, Harold, Hershall, Lowell, Joe, Maurice, Lee, Lewis and Donnis. He is survived by a brother, Richard and Ginny Coburn from Monson. He remarried and leaves behind his wife, Mary Ann (Lamontagne) Coburn. He is also survived by six children, three sons and their wives, Vance and Kay (Irish) Worster of Kingman, Barry and Shirley Ray (Gibson) Coburn of Calais, Robert and Janice (Peters) Coburn of Winn; three daughters, Colleen (Coburn) and husband, Lloyd Getchell, of Byfield, Mass., Sheila (Coburn) Doane and companion, Stanley Solomon, of Ellsworth, Tammy (Coburn) and husband, Barry Worster, of Prentiss; a stepson, Solomon Lamontagne and wife, Melissa; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren; a special nephew, Mike Sanborn and wife, Ann, of Bucksfield; many other nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service 12 noon Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the Kingman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
