ETNA – Robert E. Whidden, 76, passed away May 19, 2007, at his home. He was born March 25, 1931, in Brewer, the son of Fred and Mary (Clark) Whidden. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Jacobsen) Whidden in 2006. He is survived by two sons, Michael E. Whidden and his wife, Glenda, of Dallas and James R. Whidden and his wife, Andrea, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two daughters, Judith W. Stover and her husband, Robert, of Belfast and Kathryn A. Whidden and her husband, Charles Cathcart, of Plano, Texas; and five grandchildren. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, services will be private. Memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph, care of St. Joseph Healthcare, P.O. Box 1638, Bangor, ME 04402-1638. Arrangements entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
