BANGOR – Robert G. Thomas, 77, died Oct. 7, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Sanford, the son of Gordon and Dorothy (Logan) Thomas. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Robert worked at Bangor Hydro for 39 years, until retiring in 1989. He was a member and past president of the Old Town Rotary Club, member of Mechanics Lodge No. 66 AF & AM and a member of Anah Shriners. Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline (Marks) Thomas of Castine; one son, Robert Thomas and his wife, Cindy, of St. Albans; two daughters, Gloria Thomas and Ken Walo of Portland, and Margaret and her husband, Douglas Walsh, of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Jeremy Walsh and his wife, Laurie, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Sara Walsh of Portland; one brother James Thomas and his wife, Ella, of Bangor; sister-in-law Marilyn and her husband, Ralph Jewett, of Bucksport; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Ralph and Edward Thomas. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 234 French St., Bangor, with the Rev. Kevin Holsapple, Rector, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
