PITTSFIELD – Robert H. Pooler, 82, died Nov. 10, 2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Pittsfield, the son of Harris and Ina (Dyer) Pooler. Bob attended the Powers School on Powers Road. In 1940, he graduated from MCI. Bob resided on the family farm his entire life. Earlier on he worked as a dairy farmer. Bob raised chickens for 26 years for Fort Halifax in Winslow. After the chicken business folded, he returned to dairy farming for 10 years before retiring in 1990. He is survived by four sons, Toby Pooler and companion, Lois Jackson, of Pittsfield, Gunny Sgt. Todd Pooler and wife, Mindy, of Granby, Mass., Alan Plourde and companion, Rhonda Woodman, of Pittsfield, and Mark Plourde and companion, Starr Jones, of Waterville; three daughters, Jo-Ann Salisbury and husband, Brett, of Detroit, Sandra Powell and husband, Brian, of Oakland, and Lisa Plourde and companion, Jake Hamm, of Pittsfield; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents; sister, Marion; brothers, Roland and Frank; niece, Sandra Pooler; and great-grandson, Brandon Noble. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Village Cemetery in Pittsfield. Arrangements are under the care of Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield.
