BANGOR and BREWER – Robert “Bobby” James Clarey, 72, beloved husband of Elaine (Munson) Clarey, died May 26, 2005, at his Bangor home after a long struggle with cancer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bobby was an avid sports fan, coaching softball and basketball, and was a boxer while in the service. He loved to draw, was also an avid pool player, and loved his 1974 SS Nova. Bobby was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Munson) Clarey of Bangor; one son, James MacDonald of Frankfort; six daughters, Sally Rood, Laurie Carr both of Texas, Debbie Mayhew of Kenduskeag, Pamela MacDonald, and Kim Heath, both of Bangor, Risa Perez-Barahona of Stetson; one brother, Peter Clarey of Cancun, Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Mandy-Jo Buzzell, Mark Mayhew II, Shawna Hansen, Matthew Stover, Nicole Heath, Amanda Heath, Elizabeth Heath, Katrina Reeves, Rachel Hilst, Stephine Gerrit, Matt Nachtrieb; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special aunt, Evelyn Dow, of Orrington. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of the service.
