ROBERT L. MCFADDEN TRESCOTT – Robert L. McFadden, 69, died unexpectedly at his home Dec. 16, 2003. He was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Lubec, the son of Russell and Madeline (Trim) McFadden. “Bobbi” grew up on the family farm in Bailey’s Mistake, where he developed a strong work ethic. He helped his father and grandfather on the farm, in the area fish weirs, and working and managing the blueberry fields. He was a graduate of Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H., attended the University of Maine at Orono for a year, and served his country in the U.S. Army. He went on to work for more than 25 years as an x-ray technician for airplane parts at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut. He was a man who enjoyed the outdoors; he liked riding the back roads with his companion, his beloved dog “Dixie,” spending time at camp, fishing and hunting, and was very proud to have got a moose last year at the age of 68. He enjoyed working on machinery and equipment, and telling stories of “The Old Days.” He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by a sister, Nancy Bromley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and by many special friends. A memorial service will be held in the summer at the McFadden Family cemetery in Bailey’s Mistake.
