BRIDGEWATER – Robert M. Prest, 69, died Jan. 12, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1936, in Bridgewater, the son of Guy S. and Hazel (Pryor) Prest. Robert attended local schools and then joined the U.S. Air Force being honorably discharged in 1957. Robert had many pleasures in life such as stock car racing, working in his yard or on the house, as well as watching westerns. He was a bargain hunter and had a lot of fun agreeing on a price with a person. He worked for many years delivering fuel oil and his most recent job was managing the Bridgewater Transfer Station on Saturdays, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Robert was a communicant at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill and served on the parish council as well as Eucharist minister. His greatest accomplishment in life was that of his family. He loved his wife and children more than all else and wanted to see them excel in all that they did. He treasured the vacations he and his wife Eva took to see the children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Eva M.E. (Bulmer) Prest of Bridgewater; children, Mark S. Prest and his wife, Melanie, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Anthony T. Prest and his wife, Barbara, of Appleton, Roseanna M. Morrison and her husband, George II, of Limerick, Murray J. Prest of Fort Fairfield, Merrily J. Welch and her husband, Patrick, of Temple, Joan P. Robinson and her husband, Michael, of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Holly E. Bouchie and her husband, Mark, of Front Royal, Va., Christopher J. Prest and his wife, Brenda, of Freeport, Ill.; grandchildren, Kara, Tyler, Katrina, Victoria, Anthony, Benjamin, George III, Roshelle, Justin, Christopher,Tara, Liam, Kaleb, Michayla, Sarah, Guy, Andrew, Corey, Bianca; a great-grandson, Brendan; a brother, Eugene Prest and his wife, Vera, of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Jacqueline Forsythe of Centerville, NB; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Curtis Prest; and a sister, Joan Prest. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill, with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant.
