DOVER-FOXCROFT – Robert P. Meade, 80, husband of the late Emma (Towle) Meade, died March 21, 2004, at his residence. He was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of George P. and Cecile (Pearson) Meade. Bob served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1943-1946. He had worked at Stowell McGregor Spool Mill, Moosehead Manufacturing, Pride Manufacturing, and other area lumber mills. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion, a member of several area Granges, and was very involved with Boy Scouts for more than 45 years. He enjoyed dancing, auctions and collecting antiques, camping, and sharing his woodworking skills. A man who was always on the go, Bob had a great sense of humor, and was a proud and loving dad. He was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Emma. He is survived by a son, Arthur of Vermont; a daughter, Peggy of Dover-Foxcroft. He will be remembered by many special friends. Friends are invited to visit, reminisce, and celebrate Bob’s life 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
