PITTSFIELD – Robert ‘Bob’ Ronald Cote, 73, died May 29, 2005, at a Bangor hospital following a short illness. He was born Jan. 23, 1932, at Manchester, N.H., to Napolean and Henrietta (Gauthier) Cote. Bob graduated from West High School in Manchester, N.H., Class of 1951. He was in the first graduating class of the Thompson School at the University of New Hampshire in 1953. He farmed in Hinsdale, N.H. from 1962-69, owned Keyser Pond Campground in Henniker, N.H., sold real estate for Ordway Real Estate from 1969-76 and worked at the State Prison and farmed in Canterbury, N.H. from 1976-79. Bob moved to Maine in 1979 to farm on a larger scale. He loved to farm and in Pittsfield started with a sheep farm and then moved on to a dairy operation. He was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Pittsfield. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gloria of Pittsfield; a son, Michael and wife, Jan Cote, of Canterbury, N.H.; a daughter, Adele and husband, Ken Scott, of Orleans, Mass.; a son, William and wife, Linda Cote, of Loudon, N.H.; a son, Thomas and wife, Brenda Cote, of Pittsfield; daughter, Annette and husband, Paul Anderson, of Falmouth; a daughter, Andrea and husband, John Connolly, of Pittsfield; a sister, Jocelyn Soares of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends may be call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Fr. C. James Martel, officiating. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Agnes School, 6 Pine St., Pittsfield, ME 04967.
