BREWER and BANGOR Roger C. MacLeod, 73, died unexpectedly March 31, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1935, in South Brewer, the son of George C. and Mabel (McLaughlin) MacLeod. He was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1953. Roger joined the Maine Air National Guard as a senior in high school, where he served for 42 years, the last 20 of which he served as a KC-135 boom operator. After retiring, he worked for Sullivan and Merritt Construction, as a safety coordinator for five years. Roger was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, Experimental AirCraft Association, Penobscot Salmon Club and NRA. He was a charter member of the Union Street Athletic Club Family. Surviving are his beloved wife of 34 years, Sue Ann MacLeod of Brewer; six children, Christine Coutts and her husband, Stephen, of Brewer, Robert MacLeod Sr. and his wife, Elaine, of Hollis, Brenda Kenney and her husband, Paul, of Brewer, Lynn Titus and her husband, Les, of Shelburne, Vt., Jay MacLeod and his wife, Mary, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Brian MacLeod and his fiance, Stephanie Boucher, of Hoboken, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Caitlin, Sarah, Robert Jr., Andrew, Christine, Kasie, Grant and Lindsay; one sister, Dorothy Rowe and her husband, Arthur, of Brewer; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Robert MacLeod and his wife, Jane. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford and Kenneth; and by two sisters, Donna Denney and Myrtle Foy. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, with Chaplain Richard Bach, of the Maine Air National Guard, officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St. Bangor.
