BANGOR – Roger H. Pye, 56, passed away April 26, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born July 7, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Lois B. Pye. Roger loved square dancing, teaching round dancing, camping, many visits to Disneyland and playing with his grandchildren. His love for kids drew him to 20 years of working with them at Penobscot Job Corps. Roger is survived by his wife of 25 years, Peggie Pye of Bangor; one daughter, Robin (Dishaw) Chaffee and her husband, Scott, of Glenburn; two wonderful grandchildren, Kristina and Christopher Chaffee; one special mother-in-law, Arlene Mayo of Hampden, who spent many hours with him at Ross Manor; a special cousin and his wife, Charles and Yvonne Cox; and many other aunts and cousins; three special camping friends, Pete and Charlotte Homsted and Ron Arsenault. A special, special thanks to our family at Ross Manor and New Hope Hospice for everything they did for Roger. At Roger’s request there will be no funeral service. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. However, a memorial reception will be held 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Roger’s home, 20 Blue Hill West, Bangor. Contributions may be made to college funds for his grandchildren to Peggie Pye, 20 Blue Hill West, Bangor, ME 04401.
