ROLAND FOGG OAK HILL, Fla. – Roland Fogg, 82, of Bee Hive Drive passed away at home Tuesday, March 22, 2005. He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Brooks, the son of Ethel Jones and Merle Fogg. He was a devoted husband of 62 years to his wife, Olive. He retired and they moved to Florida 18 years ago. Roland held a variety of occupations starting as a farmer, to a storeowner, equipment salesman, oil burner sales and repairs, and doing rink maintenance at the Alfond Arena, before going to the steam plant to work. He enjoyed the interaction he had with the UMO Hockey players while working at the arena and he followed the hockey program to his last day. Roland spent may Sunday afternoons barbecuing chicken from his hen house for family, friends, and the young people that would stop by. He was a member of Arcon Lodge 75 of East Dixmont. He enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, and visiting the flea market on his scooter with his trusty companion, Snoopy, riding with him. Survivors include his wife, Olive; three sons, Merton of Oak Hill, Fla., Roland and Lillian of Hampden, and David and Vanessa of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Rowell of New Smyrna, Fla.; one brother, Sherman and Barbara of Port Orange, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jody, Jill, Sean, Kim, and Sherri, who spent many years in their care; seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of East Volusia-Care Center, 3800 Wood Briar Trail, Port Orange, Fla. 32129. Interment will be in the spring at Chapman Cemetery in Newburgh.
