BAILEYVILLE – Ronald A. “Bub” Spearin Sr., 82, died peacefully Fri-day, July 4, 2008, surround-ed by his children at a Bangor hospital. Bub was born March 12, 1926, in Little Ridge, New Brunswick, son of the late James and Margaret (Mitchell) Spearin. He served with the Army National Guard during World War II at the Princeton Prisoner of War camp. Bub married Margaret Ross, Sept. 27, 1948. He retired from Georgia Pacific in 1988, after 44 years of service. Bub was a member of Downeast Trappers Association, Quarter Century Club with Georgia Pacific and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and spending time in the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Bub was predeceased by his wife, Margaret; two children, James and Diana Spearin; a sister, Maxine Hood; and a brother, Keith Spearin. Surviving are two children, Ronald Spearin Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Charlotte and Linda Spearin-Littlefield and her husband, Richard, of Bangor; a sister, Doris Burt of South Portland; five grandchildren, Robin Willis and her husband, Alvin, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ronald Spearin III and wife, Mary Anne, of Charlotte, Rhonda Spearin of Calais, Torey Howard of South Portland and Nichole Howard of Farmingdale; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Montgomery of Maryland and Danielle Scott of New York; many nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Ronald and his wife, Margaret, will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
