LEVANT – Ronald A. Young, 64, died unexpectedly Oct. 11, 2005, at a Florence, Ky. hospital. He was born, June 21, 1941, in Bangor, the son of Donald and Dorothy Young. He was a mechanic most of his life working for Mel’s Heating, Robbins Auto Body, Webber Supply and his favorite, Young’s Racing Team where he was the crew chief, engine and body builder and major dent remover. He worked side by side with his son, Roger, the driver of No. 60 Little Enduro, to make sure they were ready for Whacky Wednesday. Young’s Racing Team finished their best season ever this year taking 2nd place in points for the Little Enduro class, thanks Dad. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rhoda (Chesley) Young of Levant; and three children, Linda and her husband, Robert Storer of Guilford, Donald Young of Dexter and Roger Young of Hermon; his brothers, Joseph and his wife, Kathy Porter of Chamblee, Ga., Gene Cyr of Conn.; sisters, Rose and her husband, Arthur Golding, of Burlington, N.C., Hilda Frost; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a special second mother, Etta Porter of Bangor; six special grandchildren, Christopher Storer of Guilford, Bradley and Tyler Young of Garland, Autumn Young of Dexter and Brandon and Rachel Young of Hermon. A special thanks to Meredith Young for all of her help and thoughtfulness. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m Oct. 30, at the Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Friends are invited to share stories and celebrate Ronnie’s life at home in Levant following the service.
