HERMON – Ronald E. Adams, 73, died peacefully May 3, 2006, at his residence after a brief battle with cancer, with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1932, the son of Emmiless Young and Blanche Adams. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean War. He graduated from technical school in Portland and after graduation he taught auto body technology in Presque Isle, where all his students loved and praised his knowledge. After several years of teaching he went on to work as an auto body technician at Cobbs Auto Body and Bangor Dodge. Then in 1977, he established R & R Auto Body with much pride. His memory and his honor will live on through his family. He will be missed by all of his “brothers” from the Bangor Elks Lodge No. 244. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bernice (Pomeroy) Adams of Hermon; five children, Ronda Watters and her husband, Harold, Ramona Burgoyne and her husband, David, Ricky Adams and his lifetime partner, Donna Goodine, Randal Adams and his wife, Rose, Regina McTague and her husband, Richard; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Bev Young and his wife, Loraine, Roger Young, Charles Young, Connie Jo Howes and her husband, Alfred, Betty Spinney and her husband, Ernest, Neil Bagley and his wife, Barbara and Cynthia Lovely and her husband, Ralph; several very special nieces, nephews and cousins, and a very special friend, Donna Clifford. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three siblings, Philip Young, Florence Young, Terry Bagley. A memorial reception will be celebrated 10-noon Sunday, May 7, at Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
