CALAIS – Ronald Lawrence Lund, 57, died at a Calais hospital, Aug. 10, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 11, 1948, in Machias, son of Lawrence and Louise (Dowling) Lund and graduated from Washington Academy in 1966. Ron was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion, and was employed most recently by Border Electric of Calais. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially hunting, snowmobiling, and quad riding; as well as his great sense of humor and gentle nature. In addition to his beloved wife, Marsha, he is survived by his mother of Jacksonville; a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and William Richards of East Hampton, Conn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Deanna Lund of East Hampton, Conn.; two sons, Daniel and Michael Lund of Machias; a daughter, Brandi Miller and two grandchildren, Kelsi and Reese Miller of Machias, as well as his extended family, Jessica, Michael and Ashlee. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Calais Cemetery.
