BREWER – Ronald Martin Nason “Nicky Nason,” 67, who fought a courageous battle with cancer, died peacefully, Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 26, 1939, in Princeton. Ron was a wonderful husband who loved his wife, Sandra, very deeply. He enjoyed the company of many special friends and family. Ron was a hard-working man with a quirky sense of humor. He started out at a young age picking potatoes in Aroostook County, then worked for 24 years at L.H. Thompson Printing and recently retired as a subcontractor with the U.S. Postal Service. Ron loved the outdoors and nature and was a member of the Sportsman Alliance of Maine, the Penobscot Salmon Club, the Conservation Club, the National Rifle Association and the Elks Club, Old Town. He had many interests, including archery, hunting, fly tying, boating, camping, fishing, and enjoyed flying single engine airplanes. Ron was an avid watcher of the “Dr. Phil” show on TV and always recommended friends to watch because he had learned so much about relationships and family. He was a hard worker and dedicated father and husband. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Cecil and Arlene Nason; three brothers, Lyle, Dennis and Dale Nason; and one grandson, Kendrick Merrill Nason. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra (Parady) Nason; one sister, Connie Gothrow of Milford; his brother, Blaine Nason and wife, Peggy, of Apopka, Fla.; his three daughters, Tammy Wing and friend, Sherri Ware, of Brewer, Terry Abbott and husband, David, of Glenburn and Vicki Levesque and husband, Richard, of Bangor; six grandchildren, Jason Black-man of Brewer, Josh Abbott of Orono, Terry W. Smith II and his fianc?e, Ashley Daggett, of Greenbush, Nikki Achorn and her friend, Nate Turner, of Portland and Trevor II and Jamie Knowles of Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews. Ron will be missed and remembered by many family members and close friends. At his wish there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare of Maine, or the Hospice of Eastern Maine. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
