GLENBURN and EDDINGTON – Ronald “Ronnie” F. Raymond, 53, died unexpectedly as a result of a work accident on Dec. 27, 2004. He was born June 17, 1951, in Old Town the son of Albert Joseph Raymond and Madeline M. (Thibodeau) Raymond. He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister; his mother-in-law, Ruth Estelle Pomeroy; his brother-in-law, Harrison William Pomeroy, Jr. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Pomeroy Raymond; a brother, Eugene and his wife, Linda, of Bangor; his nieces, Sarah Hopkins and Laura Young; a sister, Rita Joseph of Georgia; a sister, Nancy Small and her husband, Tom, of Winslow; and his niece, Erin Rumsey; father-in-law, Harrison W. Pomeroy of Glenburn; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark A. and Lisa Pomeroy of Hermon; nephew, Nickolas; niece, Rachel Pomeroy; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Stan Badger of Eddington; nephews, David and Michael Violette; and niece, Marie Baillarageon; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Roseann and Steve Davis of Bucksport; his very special nephew, Harrison “Harry” Pomeroy III; niece, Arielle Larrabee; and nephew, Shane David; an aunt, Rose Thibodeau of Caribou; numerous cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ron graduated from John Bapst High School in 1969, served in the Army National Guard, ran his own business for many years in Eddington, Power Line Body Shop, and has worked the past 24 years at the City of Bangor Motor Pool. Ronnie will always be known for his kindness he shared with others. He was a true friend, always willing to help a friend or stranger. To him, there was no stranger, just somebody he had not yet met. If driving down the highway and he saw a vehicle broken down, he would turn around and go back to see if they needed help – that was the wonderful man he was. He will forever be known for his smile, his optimistic outlook of life, traveling, and his hobby – cars- which he took great pride in restoring and collecting. Ronnie unselfishly gave of his time and talents as a volunteer for the Penobscot Area Special Olympics, Maine Special Olympics, American Diabetes Association, MS of Maine, and working in the youth program at church. He will be so missed by his wife (he was her very best friend), his family, his extended family and all who knew him. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 639 Grandview Avenue, Bangor with Bishop Douglas McCumber officiating, assisted by Bishop Hazen Martin, Spring interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Family and friends are invited to share in conversation and refreshments following the service at the church.
