ORLAND – Rosamond (Scott) Dow, 79, died Aug. 12, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Deer Isle, the daughter of Capt. Walter E. and Kathryn Mae (McVeigh) Scott. Mrs. Dow was Master of the Victory Grange No. 538 of North Orland at the time of her death. She was also Junior Deputy of the State Grange, and a member of the Hancock Pomona No. 13, and the National Grange. Rose retired from Hannaford Supermarket and Five and Ten Store in Bucksport, after many years of services. She devoted her life to her family and Grange. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert L. Dow of Orland; four children, Marcia (Eaton) Lawless of Bucksport, Alan Scott Eaton of Orland, Concetta (Eaton) Wood of Bucksport, and Forrest Walter Nevells of Stonington; one sister-in-law, Concetta Scott of West Islip, N.Y.; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Walter E. Scott Jr. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport.
