LUBEC – Rose I. (Porter) Blake, 61, died Jan. 6, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born March 21, 1943, in Lubec, the daughter of Ruben and Laura (Moores) Porter. She is survived by her husband, William Blake; children, Eugene and Victoria Dyer, Steven and wife, Lynne, Christopher Kent, Ronald and wife, Terry, Roger and wife, Brenda, Theresa and husband, Van Denbow; 10 special grandchildren, Shawn, Tommy, Drew, Carly, Lydia, Chad, Courtney and husband, Shaun, Kim and wife, Corena, Amanda, and Justin; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Jesse, Ryan, Nathan, McKaden, and Dominica; brothers, Bernard and wife, Stella, Douglas and special friend, Mary, Raymond “Tarz”, and special friend, Lorraine, Albert and wife, Barbara, and John and wife, Audrey; several special nieces and nephews; special friends, Debbie Marden, Suzanne Miller, Lisa Whitney, and Rose’s special companion and friend, her dog, Brandy Blake. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Vincent and Wayne; sisters, Laura Case and her husband, Reginald, Virginia Lodge and her husband, (and dear friend to Rose), Paul, Katrinia Porter, Marguerite Trott, Anna Lodge, and Madeline Bassett. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Eastern Maine Medical Center staff, her doctors and nurse, Kim Moran, who offered such warm care to Rose and who surrounded her upon her final journey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Oncology Department at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with Pastor Gary Look, officiating. A gathering will follow at the home of Eugene Blake. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
