ALLAGASH – Rose (Raymondi) Gilmartin, 85, died peacefully Sept. 24, 2007, in Allagash. She was born Aug. 1, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph and Lydia (Scelsi) Raymondi. Rose worked as a legal secretary for Cramer & Anderson Law Firm for several years. Rose was a past president of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, Granada Hill, Calif. In her earlier days she enjoyed horseback riding and spending time on her farm in New Milford, Conn. Several of her favorite pastimes were painting and socializing with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and her husband, Leighton Kelly, of Allagash; two grandchildren, Cara and her husband, Brian Merrill, of Belfast and Joseph and his wife, Manda Kelly, of New Canada; one great-grandson, Seth Haven of Belfast. She is also survived by four nieces and their families. In addition to both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Gilmartin in 1978; and by her brother, Raymond Raymondi. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier’s Cemetery, New Milford, Conn., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in her memory donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
