EXETER, N.H. – Roy A. Ladner, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at the Sunbridge of Exeter, N.H., after a long, courageous battle with diabetes and cancer. Mr. Ladner was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Bangor, the son of Leroy and Alice (Curran) Ladner. After graduating from the University of Maine, he became a U.S. Army major during World War II. He served as CEO of the 64th General Depot, New Delhi, India. He later went on to be employed within the banking system. Here he quickly rose to the position of president and chairman of the board of First New Hampshire Banks. Roy and his wife spent many summers relaxing by the water at their camp in Kennebunk, as well as many winters in Florida. They traveled extensively out of the country and enjoyed many cruises with friends. Mr. Ladner is survived by his forever loving wife, Elizabeth “Lib” Ladner of Bonnie Drive, Exeter, N.H.; one son and daughter of Orono, one sister, Lorraine Nagelin and husband, Arthur, of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
