MILLINOCKET – Royden E. McInnis, 82, passed away Monday, July 4, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. He was born June 23, 1923, in Millinocket, the son of Maurice and Mabel McInnis. He worked as a millwright at Great Northern Paper Company for 38.3 years, retiring in 1986. Roy worked in the CCC camps during World War II. As a young man, Royden enjoyed water skiing. He enjoyed snowmobiling, and his membership and friends at Northern Timber Cruisers Snowmobile Club were very close to his heart. Royden was proud of being involved in Mount Katahdin rescues with the Northern Timber Cruisers. He will be missed by many residents of Millinocket for his daily scheduled rides to the lake and will always be remembered riding in his green truck, waving to all his friends. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeannine McInnis of Millinocket; two daughters, Sandra and her husband, Brian Eastman, of Hermon, and Donna and her husband, Mark Hopper, of Bellefonte, Pa.; five grandchildren, Todd Eastman, Michele Eastman Derr, Kelly Hopper, Lauren Hopper, Ryan Hopper; four great-grandchildren, Riley Derr, Regan Derr, Avery Barrino, Tavian Barrino. Friends may call at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Millinocket Cemetery.
