VERNON, Conn., and ROCKLAND – Russell Gilmore Williamson passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center, Hartford, Conn. He was born June 22, 1922, in Rockland, the son of Edward and Amy Kenniston Williamson. He never lost his love of the Maine coast and his hometown. He lived and worked in Maine, Florida and South Carolina, before settling in Connecticut. He was an avid collector, photographer and reader, enjoying the world of antiques, coins and stamps. He looked forward to his annual trip to the Eastern States Exposition. He enjoyed the music of the big bands and kept meticulous journals and scrapbooks. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Williamson Traner of Presque Isle; a granddaughter, Hillary Trainer of Easton; a grandson and his wife, Jay and Heather Trainer of Presque Isle; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor; a favorite cousin, Robert and Marsha Skoglund of St. George; and numerous cousins.
