BANGOR – Ruth Arlene Fry, 77, died Oct. 8, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, due to a recent heart attack. She was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of Albert Raymond and Lenora (Hall) Stoker. Ruth was a homemaker and a caring person with a great sense of humor and dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She moved to Bangor in 1978. Ruth gave part of herself through organ donation to help others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Frank G. Fry, whom she married Dec. 26, 1953, in Williamsport, Pa.; and a grandson, Jeffrey Fry. She is survived by sons, Gary Fry and wife, Judy, from Sugar Grove, Pa., David Fry and wife, Donna, of North Warren, Pa., James “Jimmy” Fry of Monroe; a daughter, Helen Bangs of Port Orange, Fla.; a sister, Lynetta McKay of Williamsport, Pa.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Chapel of Eastern Maine Medical Center, on the second floor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services, officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta.
