EASTPORT – Ruth A. Lovell, 83, died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at an Eastport nursing home. Ruth was born, July 12, 1923, in Hoboken, N.J., daughter of the late Otto Arthur and Anna Elizabeth (Von Hoff) Janke. She was employed as a payroll clerk and comptometer operator for Mack Truck for many years. Ruth married Irving Lovell, June 18, 1950, in Iselin, N.J. She was a member of the Central Congregational Church, Eastport and an active member of the Generation Bridge. Ruth was very active in the church serving as a church clerk and teaching Sunday school. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 11 Fred Mitchell Post and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and other children. Ruth was predeceased by four brothers. Surviving are her son, Robert Lovell and wife, Kathi, of North Haven; a sister, Marie Jasina of California; three grandchildren, Kimberli Bonzagoni and husband, Tony, of Chop Point and Elizabeth Lovell and Benjamin Lovell, both of North Haven; two great-grandchildren, Elli and Sean Bonzagoni; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Central Congregation Church, Middle Street, Eastport, with the Rev. John MacDuffie officiating. A private burial was held at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta.
