BANGOR, ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla., and HARLEM, Ga. – Ruth, A. (Lydick) Nevins, 83, passed away peacefully July 22, 2005, at the University Hospital, in Augusta, Ga., surrounded by her loving family, husband, John, daughters, son, and grandchildren, following complications and a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born March 14, 1922, in Millinocket, the daughter of Edwin and Minnie (Oliver) Lydick. She is survived by her husband, John Nevins, of Harlem, Ga.; three daughters, Janice (Newcomb) Campbell, of Brewer, Brenda Rowe and her husband, Jim, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Loreen Reynolds and her husband, Steve, of Harlem, Ga.; one son, Erwin B. “Sonny” Newcomb and partner, Carol Gallupe, of Brewer; one brother, Elwin “Bud” Lydick and his wife, Sylvia, of Raymond; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, James; and three sisters, Annie Lucille, Hazel. Nana was happy being a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Nana took pride in baking each family member their favorite treat. Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, at Riverview Cemetery, in Bucksport, with the Rev. Linda Smith officiating. Refreshments will follow at the Edward K. Arey Community Center, in Bucksport. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
