PALM CITY, Fla. and LINCOLN – Ruth “Bunny” Kathleen (Osgood) Hubbard, 76, passed away Feb. 12, 2006, with family at her side at Water’s Edge Nursing Home in Palm City, Fla., following a long illness. She was born Feb. 7, 1930, in Kingman, to the late Benjamin F. and Flora J. (Morrison) Osgood. After moving to Lincoln she attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1948. She later attended the Chamberland Merchandising School, Boston, Mass. She left Lincoln and moved to Rhode Island where she raised her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and in later years her grandchildren became an important part of her life. She loved to cook and have family and friends for special occasions and holidays. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and shopping excursions with both close friends and family members. Bunny is survived by her three children and their families, Sue Ellen Vargas and her husband, Peter, of North Kingstown, R.I.; her son, Osgood Holt of Westbrook; and her daughter, Tammy Lambros and her husband, Andre, of Palm City, Fla. She is also survived by her very dear sisters, Pauline Randall and her husband, Harland, of Lincoln and Hobe Sound, Fla. and Joyce O. Russell of Enfield and Hobe Sound, Fla. She also leaves a brother, Roderick Osgood of Lincoln and Zephyrhills, Fla. A brother, Sterling Osgood predeceased her. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Michael Vargas and his wife, Carolyn, of Charlotte, N.C., Alisa Vargas of Chatham, N.J., Andrew Vargas of North Kingstown, R.I., Michaela Holt and Matthew Holt of Westbrook and Christopher and Hanna Lambros of Palm City, Fla. She also leaves a nephew and niece, Sterling Osgood and Tanya Brown; and dear nieces, Wanda Bennett, Brenda Gavin and Sandra Hurd. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
