BRUNSWICK – Ruth Dee, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Freeport Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 24, 1912, in Fort Fairfield, a daughter of Elbridge and Emma Dean Higgins. She grew up and went to school in Fort Fairfield, continuing to live there until she moved to Brunswick in 1963. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Harold Dee, who died in 1991; also six brothers, David, Stacey, Wallace, Herschel, Elwood and Linwood; and three sisters, Cora Parady, Madeline Parker and Eva Witham. She is survived by two daughters, Leona Phelan and her husband, Gregory, of Brunswick, and Freda Wright and her husband, Manzer, of Deltona, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 12-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Brunswick Church of the Nazarene, McKeen Street, Brunswick, with the Rev. Clayton Haley officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield in the spring.
