ELLSWORTH – Ruth Elaine Danico Allen of Ellsworth, joined her Lord on Jan. 5, 2004. She died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at a Bangor Hospital, from complications related to pneumonia, with her husband and family at her side. She was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Ellsworth. Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ralph E. Allen Sr., of Ellsworth, daughters, Lois E. Rollins of Chesapeake, Va., Rachel J. Holmes, and husband, Thomas W. Holmes, of Ellsworth; sons, Ralph E. Allen, Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va., Timothy P. Allen, and wife, Liza, of Otis. She was a warm and caring grandmother to her granddaughters, Christy M. Renn and Michelle L. Woods of Chesapeake, Va., Abbie Allen of Otis; her grandsons, Anthony M. Carnrike of Virginia Beach, Va., Jacob Allen, of Massachusetts, Chad Woods and Bradley Allen of Otis; two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons. She is also survived by two brothers, Victor Danico, Richard Danico and his wife, Janet, all of Ellsworth; and her sister, Varna Robinson of Georgia. She will be missed by all her friends and family. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Leamon and Lois (Urquhart) Danico; brothers Floyd, Leamon Jr., Bobby and Donald Danico; and sisters, Lillian Tracy and Mary F. Danico. Friends may visit with the family 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.
