CONCORD, N.C. – Ruth Evelyn Mitchell Moser, 81, of Concord, N.C., died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, in a nursing home in Concord, N.C., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born May 25, 1922, in Aroostock County, to the late Ferdie Mitchell and his wife, Grace Wilkins Mitchell. She was one of 11 children. Ruth graduated from Island Falls High School before moving to Cheshire, Conn., where she lived until 1969. She then lived in Lake Worth, Fla., before moving to North Carolina to be with her daughter. She was active in the Baptist Church in Cheshire, and also in Lake Worth. She retired from Florida Airmotive in Lantana, Fla. Ruth was an active member of The Shell Club of Palm Beach County. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter and her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Holly Arbogast and husband, Kenneth K., of Concord, N.C.; two brothers, Kenneth Mitchell and his wife, Helen, of Hamden, Conn., and Philip Mitchell and his wife, Betty, of Orchard Park, N.Y.; two sisters, Helen Sherman of Island Falls and Naomi White of Houlton. She also had numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who mourn the loss of their special aunt and friend. Ruth was laid to rest 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in Staunton, Va., at the St. Johns Reformed United Church of Christ.
