BUCKSPORT – Ruth Harriman Chase, 85, beloved wife of the late Harold S. Chase, died Oct. 10, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born June 25, 1920, in Stillwater, the daughter of William and Ruby Yerxa Harriman. Ruth was a member of the Felicity Chapter No. 195 Order of the Eastern Star, the October Club and a long-standing member of the Franklin Street Methodist Church. In years past, she enjoyed her bridge club, doing crafts and she enjoyed making her own greeting cards. She is survived by her three sons, Fred Chase and friend, Laurent Baker, of Maryland, Rod Chase and wife, Leslie Murauckas and Ken Chase and wife, Bobbi; five grandchildren, Reed Dyer and wife, Joanna, Rita Barker and Drew, Warren Chase, Megan and Jennifer Murauckas; one brother, William Harriman and wife, Ethel; a sister, Patricia McReavy and husband, Cliff; a brother-in-law, Richard Chase -and wife, Freida; and nieces and nephews; also sisters-in-law, Mildred Harriman and Ruth Harriman. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; four brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Carleton and Wesley; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Harriman, Eunice Harriman and Frances Smith and husband, Rexford; and brother-in-law, Donald Chase and wife, Olga. Visitation for the family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will follow at the Franklin Street Methodist Church.
