EAST MILLINOCKET – Ruth J. Joudry, 91, formerly of Spruce Street, East Millinocket, entered into rest, Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at the Katahdin Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late, Roland Joudry Sr. Mrs. Joudry was born Sept. 3, 1913, in Onawa, to the late Franklin and Ida (White) Small. She gained her diploma at Brownville Junction High School, and then continued on to the University of Maine in Farmington. After achieving her degree, she dedicated herself to special needs children at Katahdin School. After retirement, she was a devout member of the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket where she was very active with the Women’s Fellowship. She was an avid sports fan, favoring the Boston Red Sox, and attended many Schenk High School basketball and soccer games. Mrs. Joudry is survived by her loving sons, Lawrence and his wife, Norma, of East Millinocket and David and his wife, Carol, of Augusta. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Joey, Aimee, Laura, Kathy, Michael and Melissa; and six great-grandchildren. her brother, Howard Small of Florida; and her sisters, Geraldine Hoxie of East Millinocket and Shirley Varney of Brownville Junction also survive her. Ruth is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jane Joudry; two brothers and seven sisters. Friends are invited to greet the family noon-2 p.m. Thursday, the First Congregational Church, 11 Maple St., East Millinocket. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Andrew McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in East Millinocket Cemetery.
