EAST MILLINOCKET- Ruth N. Murray, 87, passed away at her home in East Millinocket Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, after losing her husband May 9th of this year; followed by medical challenges too great to overcome. She was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Medway, the daughter of Simon and Margie (Nichols) Brewer. Simon and “Minnie” Brewer raised Ruth after her birth mother passed away. Ruth lived in the East Millinocket area for the majority of her life and after living in Connecticut for a brief period, returned home with her husband to raise four children. She was a devoted Christian, mother, and wife who lived her faith and leaves a legacy of service to her church home, her community, her family, friends, and neighbors. She is survived by three children; Marjorie L. Wheaton and her husband, Ronnie, of Millinocket, Peggy A. Owens and her husband, Richard, of Litchfield, N.H., and Robert S. Murray and his wife. Linda. of Windsor, Conn.; two sisters, Geraldine Wallace and her husband, Leonard, of East Millinocket, Charlene Eaton of North Yarmouth; seven grandchildren; five great-grand-children; numerous nieces and nephews; and a cherished community of friends and neighbors. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Harold (Ned) Murray and her beloved son, Thomas E. Murray. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 6, at the First Congregational Church in East Millinocket with the Pastor Andrew MacLeod officiating. Burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004.
