GOULDSBORO POINT – Ruth R. Leighton, 79, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. She was a retired marine supplier enjoying retirement with her husband of 59 years, Alton Leighton, and her beloved dog, Lucky. Her quiet but strong presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Alton Leighton; a niece, Wanda Lounder and her husband, Andrew; and great-nieces, Brandy and Ashley Lounder, all of Hancock; a niece, Paula Colwell and her husband, Charles, of Prospect Harbor; a great-nephew, Bowen Colwell of Harrington; a great-niece, Tonya Colwell of Hancock; a sister-in-law, Velma Workman and her husband, Warren, of Southwest Harbor; a niece, Brenda Seavey and her husband, Keith, of Southwest Harbor; a niece, Barbara Workman of Kingsfield; a brother-in-law, Sherwood Leighton and his wife, Audrey; a niece, Sheila Lewis and her husband, Wendell, all of Boothbay Harbor; a niece, Betty Bradford and her husband, Ed, of Gouldsboro; a sister-in-law, Edna Reynolds of Steuben; a nephew, Shane Reynolds and his wife, Cathy, of Milbridge; a nephew, Noah Reynolds of Steuben; a niece, Mona Robertson of Hancock; and a great-nephew, Dusty Robertson of Hancock; special friends, Dot and Bill Estabrook of Sorrento and Cozy Hearns of Chantilly, Va. Ruth was predeceased by her sister, June Shaw of Gouldsboro; and her brother, Bruce Reynolds of Steuben. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, at the Bayview Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. Floyd Flynn officiating. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
