BANGOR and HERMON – S. Ryan Channell, 26, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, after a brief neurological illness. He was born Dec. 15, 1979, in Bangor, the son of Stephen A. Channell and Janet Guptill Channell. Ryan’s special, quiet strength and rare gift of humor will be greatly treasured by all who loved him! His knowledge and love of the woods, animals and all that is Mother Nature, will be greatly missed by his family. Thanks, Ryan, for the love and friendship we shared. The last six months are engraved on my heart. Thank God for the hope we share, for you are “sheltered safe within the arms of God!” All my love, mom. He is survived by both of his parents; a maternal grandmother, Margaret L. Guptill; one sister, Reagan R. Cote; a niece, Danielle Jade Cote, age 3; his favorite “Auntie” Linda and her husband, Tim Vanidestine; Uncle Lee and Aunt Jean Guptill; as well as cousins, Ira and Starr Guptill and boys; and Laura and John Cotton and boys; his paternal grandparents, Denzil and Janette Channell of Troy; Uncle Denzil and Aunt Karen Channell of Machias, Uncle Tommy and Aunt Carolyn Channell of Bangor, Uncle Patrick and Aunt Tammy Channell of Brewer and Uncle David and Aunt Mary Channell of Delaware; as well as numerous cousins. He is also survived by his best-buddy-in-the-world, Zachary Hartley, age 2. Zachary and Dani were the loves of his life. Also, thank you Dustin Bradford and Michael Robinson for your long friendships. A viewing will be held 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield. A committal service will be celebrated 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport, officiated by the Rev. Ron Morris. Arrangements are entrusted to Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield.
