ABBOT – Seldon L. Mitchell, 77, passed away, March 17, 2005, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born March 17, 1928, in Abbot, son of Lester and Edith (Perkins) Mitchell. He attended Abbot schools. Seldon worked for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and later as a kitchen worker at Ripogenus Dam in East Millinocket, the Birches, and at Spencer Bay Camps. He was a 60 year member of the Valley Grange. He is survived by two sisters, Harriett C. Mitchell and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Bickford of Abbot; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and four cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Theodore, Russell and Maynard; two sisters, Addie Mitchell, and Donna (Mitchell) Fogg; two sisters-in-law, Myona (Roberts) Mitchell, and Lorraine Mitchell; two brothers-in-law, Millard Fogg and Ivory Mitchell. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., in Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Marilyn Sargent officiating. Spring burial will be in the Abbot Village Cemetery.
