NAPLES, Fla. – Seymour “Sy” Adoff, 83, passed away on Oct. 7, 2004, in Naples, Fla. He was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Yetta and Abraham Adoff. He graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford and Hartford College School of Electronics. Then, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 as electronic mate 1st class. While on leave from the Navy, he married Ann Good of Portage in 1943. A pioneer in the earliest television service work, he spent 18 years working for G. Fox Department Store in Hartford, then became partner at Randall Appliance Store, in Rocky Hill, Conn. He served two terms as president of the TELSA Group of Hartford. Retiring in 1990, he and Ann spent winters in Naples and summers in Rocky Hill and in Maine. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, and his five children, Linda Rogoff and husband, Martin, of Portland, Janice Voyer and husband, Albert, of Charleston, S.C., Arthur Adoff of Naples, Fla., Terrance Adoff of Hartford, Conn., David Adoff and wife, Hildy, of Washington, Va. He was the proud grandfather of five grandsons and two great-grandsons. He is also mourned by countless friends and associates.
